This is a great tool that I have already mentioned to friends and family. I plan on spending some time refining the site and adding to it as I progress in this cohort.

BClaytonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03483939135568322215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5340988181536168197.post-38025724137161251282010-02-21T15:15:00.001-08:002010-02-21T15:19:08.042-08:00Plaxo versus LinkedInThese two sites are quite similar however I am partial to the Linked In site. I have been on LinkedIn for quite some time now and have recently begun to use the site more often with my current professional role. One of the things I noticed right away was just how many more users there are with LinkedIn as opposed to Plaxo. Also the ability to join groups and instantly upload a resume to your profile is a nice draw I did not find readily available with Plaxo. I immediatley subscribed to Bill Simmons with ESPN as I think his work is awesome. I also subscribed to the power of applied kinesiology. This was with Blogtalkradio. I think it will be good to listen to people who are already in the field and the way that our program of choice is articulated. Exposure is key and the more of these podcasts I can find and begin to subscribe to the better.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espnradio/podcast/feeds/itunes/podCast?id=2864045

BClaytonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03483939135568322215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5340988181536168197.post-62250330081003569792010-02-14T08:36:00.001-08:002010-02-14T08:38:28.845-08:00Library Thinghttp://www.librarything.com/catalog/bryan_clayton

This is a great site to find and share books that will be helpful in my career. Working out I had strained my rotator cuff and with this taping method the pain subsided and I was able to keep lifting. Had I felt like paying 30 bucks a visit i probably would have never stopped working out. The search options and the variety of things available on this site are second to none and it is very easy to see why this site has taken off. IT offers uses for both social and professional needs and I could see a coach putting a highlight tape on the site and also picking up pointers from a "how to video". I suspect overtime this site will begin to limit its free content and it is the only thing I see as a negative for the future of YouTube.BClaytonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03483939135568322215noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5340988181536168197.post-71556521839745427742010-02-03T10:51:00.000-08:002010-02-03T10:54:09.922-08:00TechnoratiI found this site to be even more useful than the Delicious site. This site gives you an up to date list of what is going on in the blogosphere and to me is a very valuable tool. I relate this to my current role in the corporate world and one of the things I am charge with doing is implying the importance of the Internet to my customers. The ability to check on popular tags and things that are being widely read is something that seems to set this site apart for students and thus teachers as well. All of the sites that we have been exposed to thus far have similarities but the differences in the sights is what makes them valuable tools.BClaytonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03483939135568322215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5340988181536168197.post-29496441905603438822010-01-31T19:24:00.000-08:002010-01-31T19:30:06.789-08:00Technology In PEThe fact is that many of the advances that we are currently discovering are already being used in the coaching world. Twitter, facebook, and the use of blogs are many ways that coaches contact recruits. The things I find interesting are how coaches can use these tools to bounce things off of counterparts as well and how a coaching clinic can basically be completed in the virtual world.

Another prime example is the fact that games are now recorded in multiple formats. Gone are the dyas of the VHS tape with the trainer taping from the top row of the stands. An exmaple of this si when the teams here in WI make the NCAA tourney they have game film of their opponent within hours via the Milwaukee bukcs and their extensive DVD scouting collection. ZThis use to eb a 3 day turnaround and now it is complete in minutes.

BClaytonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03483939135568322215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5340988181536168197.post-26753088221864567302010-01-31T16:32:00.000-08:002010-01-31T16:36:15.602-08:00WEB 2.0One of the sites I went to was iStats.com and this site is a great tool for anyone involved with physical education. The piece by Baird and Fisher spoke of how initially and even still online learning was frowned upon because of a lcak of interaction. Maybe its just me but I have been using online studies for over four years and find them far superior to in class learning. The ability to do things at my pace is huge. The piece by Kajewski was also really interesting. Having already purchased eBooks for some of my previous classes it was enlightening to see how libraries are adapting on the fly and trying to stay relevant. Finally the piece on Social networking was great in that it really pointed out how this was nto a new concept. The unique part now is the ease and speed with which people can connect.

BClaytonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03483939135568322215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5340988181536168197.post-13291296132998395682010-01-24T14:05:00.001-08:002010-01-24T14:07:09.228-08:00

Here is a picture of my son's first Brewer game. With all of the advances in technology the fact that these games which generate great revenue for the institutions are being officiated and possibly decided with antiquated technology. IF you could watch the SuperBowl in HD or digital which would you choose? BC stands for Bryan Clayton and I plan on giving you a glimpse of everything that is my life. Today is Wednesday January 12th, 3 days AD. That is 3 days after the death of the Packers in one of the worst losses this franchise has ever seen. Here in WI the packers are more than just a team, they are life. I know many people in this state who are still dazed and confused from the way it all ended and while there were bright spots it still will be a long off season. Here's hoping that guy named Brent chokes come Sunday so things can return to normalcy.

I am hoping this blog will give you some insight into what makes a Midwest fan and in particualr a WI fan tick. We have different values than most fans and this a both a blessing and a curse. Oh well. Opening Day for the Brewers is only 81 days away. Bring on Spring!!!

BC

BClaytonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03483939135568322215noreply@blogger.com1
